How not to out yourself on Facebook

If you put down the the fireworks long enough over the holiday weekend to pick up a paper or read news online, you may have seen the story of the British spymaster’s wife who outed him on Facebook . It seems  the wife of Sir John Sawers, next in line to run England’s super-secret spy agency MI6, had been using Facebook to share pictures of her husband and family and post updates on their whereabouts – not the kind of behavior covert operatives normally go in for. As you can imagine, the Bri

Rick Warren’s Coalition Of Compromise

An Open Letter to Pastor Rick WarrenBy Jan MarkellOn July 5 the Washington Times online reported that Pastor Rick Warren told his Islamic audience, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA,) that he envisions “a coalition of faith.” Whether Pastor Warren knows this or not, this is just another term for the coming one-world religion outlined in Revelation 13. It is further outlined in Revelation 17. I have not taken on the issue of Rick Warren all that often, but after reading what the Washingt

Comic Update: Getting Tough on Static Visuals

One of my regrets for this year was my inability to attend An Event Apart: Boston or @media ‘09 . I’m sure each conference was full of great speakers, tons of new ideas, and an atmosphere alive with fellow professionals sharing thoughts about what they love about their jobs. In particular, though, I’m sad that I missed Andy Clarke’s “ Walls Come Tumbling Down ” presentation (warning, link goes to a very long presentation transcript.) He expressed a good deal of nervousness about how the top

Yes, hardcore Halo fanboy, I called you casual .  You can’t really be considered hardcore until you’re dropping a grand on an annual video card upgrade to play the latest PC offerings at their maxed out settings.  Not to say tha

Randi Weingarten responded to Is ‘Mayoral Control’ The Answer For Urban Schools? on July 6, 2009 07:53 AM

Too often, the debate around mayoral control devolves into a debate between one side that says mayoral control, in and of itself, will fix a city’s schools, and another side that says mayoral control is an evil power grab. I want to emphasize, first off, that mayoral control is not for everybody and shouldn’t be viewed as the only way to run schools.

Arne Duncan responded to Is ‘Mayoral Control’ The Answer For Urban Schools? on July 6, 2009 07:52 AM

In many cities, including Chicago, mayoral control is the answer for turning around schools.
