the 3rd annual San Luis Obispo Greek Festival! It is a busy week, but here is something fun to read: Cholesterol levels might be controlled by brain circuitry “When your stomach growls and you have the urge to reach for the nearest snack, it is, in a way, your tummy talking. Those signals are in part sparked by the gut-based hunger hormone ghrelin, which blocks certain receptors in the brain, telling your body when it is time to eat.” iPhone 4 “Steve Jobs’s keynote address at yesterday’s Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is now available in its entirety on Apple’s website.”

Wonderful view of Baseball in Boston Here’s some of what I found interesting reading today: questioning coffee affects “Tests on 379 individuals who abstained from caffeine for 16 hours before being given either caffeine or a placebo and then tested for a range of responses showed little variance in levels of alertness.” Understanding Potassium Channels “Walter and Eliza Hall Institute scientists have made a significant advance in understanding how potassium channels, which permit the flow of electric currents central to many of the body’s biological processes, control the flow of these currents.”
