Globe Military Services Team at Rapid City National Guard Conference

The South Dakota National Guard Conference was held April 22-24 in Rapid City. Mike Blumberg, military liaison for Globe Education Network, returned from the conference with several success stories, the most notable of which involved a presentation to the Acting Commander of the United States Army National Guard.

This event is part of the North American Butterfly Association’s national efforts to collect population trend data. Local expert entomologist Don Miller will lead the trip on the BCCER, and Don Hankins, geological sciences, will coordinate the trip on the BCEP.

Globe University Madison Campuses use Teamwork at Business Expo to Create a Buzz

The campus teams from Globe-Madison East and Globe-Madison West took the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo by storm.  Several members of both campus teams worked together to generate some PDL’s and business contacts. “The Expo was a great way for our two campuses to work together,” says Brock Vander Velden, Madison West campus director. “Both campuses did a great job of creating a team approach to presenting Globe in a unified way.” April Papst, the Career Services Director at the Madison West campus, used her incredible networking skills to introduce our schools to dozens of businesses.  Most of the attendees at the Expo already knew April and by the end of the Expo everyone knew Globe University as well.

J Street Education Fund Places Full-Page Ad on Jerusalem

Today, the J Street Education Fund announced the placement of a full-page ad in seven Jewish weekly newspapers around the country, underscoring the need to address the demographic realities of Jerusalem as an integral part of any peace negotiations and aiming to spark a broad, robust and civil conversation in the Jewish community on this complex issue. The ad features excerpts from an op-ed by former Israeli Minister of Education and Minister of the Environment and prominent Israeli political commentator Yossi Sarid, written in response to Elie Wiesel’s open letter that called on the United States to halt diplomatic action around Jerusalem. The op-ed originally ran in Haaretz on April 14th.

Globe University Students, Staff & Faculty Meet with Wisconsin Legislators at the Capitol

On Tuesday, April 20, 66 students, administrators and faculty gathered in Madison for the Wisconsin Council for Independent Education’s (WCIE) first Hill Day.  The group was comprised of seven different Wisconsin universities, Career College Association representatives and the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board (EAB).  A total of 23 Globe University representatives from all six Wisconsin campuses attended.  Representatives from Wisconsin career colleges on the Capitol steps in Madison, WI.
